Sunil Bharti Mittal is an Indian industrialist, social worker and Chairman of Airtel, India’s largest telecom company. His name is included in the world’s number of telecom entrepreneurs. Sunil’s company Bharti Airtel is one of the largest telephone companies in the world, whose business spreads in almost 19 countries. Airtel GSM mobile service also provides internet broadband services along with nearly 20 million subscribers. Sunil has achieved this success with his hard work, true passion and vision.

Sunil was born in Ludhiana district of Punjab in 1957. His father Satpal Mittal was a politician and had been a member of Lok Sabha from the Lok Sabha twice and once. His early education was from Winnburg Allen School of Mussoorie and later from Scindia School of Gwalior.In the year 1976, he received a bachelor’s degree from Punjab University. Sunil says that he had no particular interest in studying in his childhood and wanted to establish his own business.

Recalling his early days, Sunil Bharti Mittal explains, “I first started the business of making yarn for Cycle Parts and Hosiery. The early days were very difficult and coming in were very difficult to get a lot of work from But every day when he went to sleep at night, he used to tell himself to give the confidence of his mind that tomorrow money is coming. It was the result of hard work, hard work and perseverance to defeat Sunil Bharti Mittal in any condition that their business went on with a lot of difficulties, but the companions walked on. But he was not the only one to satisfy. When he started feeling that he could not fulfill his dreams in that business, he sold that business from Ludhiana to Mumbai and started a new business in Mumbai, along with his brothers. The company he created for his new business was named “Bharti Overbridge Trading Company.”

Mayanagri is called Mumbai city of dreams, so Sunil Bharti Mittal also felt that there is no better place than Mumbai to make his dreams come true. Finally he created a new company in Mumbai under the name of “Bharti Overbridge Trading Company” and through this, he started selling portals in Japan to Portbal Generetaro.

His lucky opportunity came in 1992, when the government was starting to license licenses for the first time mobile phone services. At the same time Sunil Mittal received a license from the Cellular Circle from Delhi. In 1995, he founded Bharti Cellular Limited (BCL) and launched the Airtel brand. He was honored with a number of awards in the year 2006 in the Asian Business of the Year by Fortune Magazine, Business Leader by the Economic Times and Asian Business in 2004, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur in Asian Business. He is one of the richest Indians in the world. Bharti Group also entered into an agreement with US retail giant Wal-Mart in 2006 to introduce several retail outlets across India.

In 1976, at a very young age, Sunil started a business with his two brothers and a friend; Although there was not much struggle in his early life, he worked hard and decided to set his work forward.

Due to heart disease disease, his father died in 1992. But no one can stop this ambitious telecom mogul from fulfilling his ambitions. Sunil Mittal’s wife is Nayana and she has three children, a daughter Isha Mittal and twin sons, Kavin Mittal and Sharvin Mittal. Sunil Mittal studied at Arya College of Ludhiana.
